Holiday Learning Project

The summer holiday project is to make a diary. As with previous projects your child can do this in a number of ways. They could: write their own diary in the role of a character;  keep a diary about some holiday  highlights, maybe five different days, with drawings, photos, tickets and feelings  included; film or make a photo album of some special days or something else of your choice that records some highlights of the summer holiday period.

Summer Reading Challenge

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is Record Breakers. The challenge runs in all local Libraries, for ages 4-11. The children can collect prizes and scratch ‘n’ sniff stickers and if they read 6 books they receive a certificate with their name on and a gold medal. This year children can follow the action on line. They can play games and read blogs by various authors.

Help your pupils avoid the summer drop in literacy levels and encourage them to develop a lifetime’s love of reading. Libraries are also running a number of themed activity sessions.

We are just about to say goodbye to our year 6 class. They have been an amazing year group in lots of different ways. We want to say a huge well done to them their parents and all the staff at Petts Hill who have worked with them. They have just achieved our best ever set of end of Key Stage results.
