About The Place2Be
The Place2Be is a national children’s charity working with 200 schools across the UK. They provide a safe space – The Place2Be room – where children can express their feelings through talking, creative work and play.
The Place2Be works with children, teachers and parents/carers too, providing therapeutic support to address social, emotional and behavioural problems.
The Place2Be helps build children’s confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to cope with difficult life events, establish friendships and focus in class. This in turn makes school a happier place to be for all the children and the school staff.

Place2Be at Petts Hill Primary School
Place2Be is a service that is available for the children at Petts Hill. The Place2Be gives children the chance to talk about their feelings, feel good about themselves and be more able to learn.
Gwendolyn Rowlands is our school’s project manager from Place2Be. She is based in school on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings. She coordinates the work of Place2be at Petts Hill by working with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, offering regular time-tabled support for those who need it most. She also coordinates and supports a team of volunteers that also run one to one sessions. Before any one to one session starts Gwendolyn will meet with the family of the child. She also runs a drop in service called Place2Talk where children can come along for 15 minutes during their lunch break to talk to her.
