School Meals Supervisory Assistant - 6.5hrs a week

Salary Grade 2  - £11.88 inclusive hourly rate

 

This position is for someone to work with other members of our lunch play team ensuring the smooth, happy running of the lunchtime break and supervision of the children. Our school values the importance of play and is working towards OPAL accreditation early in the next academic year. 

 

As a successful candidate you will have the ability to work in a team and be an effective communicator. During lunchtime you will be expected to support and develop pupil’s social and play skills.  You will be required to supervise the dining room or other areas of the school grounds whilst the children are at play.  The site and provision is evolving over time, so being creative, positive and adaptable to change are important skills to have.  Experience of qualification in play work would be desirable but not essential; all the play team member received play work essentials training and engage in reflective practise meetings regularly.

 

You will need to manage pupils in a clear, consistent and fair way. All our children whatever their background and need, including children with identified special needs and vulnerable children, will expect to be treated fairly and supported during their lunch break. You will be expected to deliver First Aid when required and so must have a qualification or ability to complete training as required.
